The highlight of the year was our vacation to the Mayan Riviera (Playa del Carmen and Tulum), not only because it gave us the opportunity to refresh our minds and bodies but mainly because it signified an answer to many years of prayer and triumph over debt. God truly answered our prayers of 7 years by letting us become debt free. Praise God!
Mike continues to work at Fischers Sports Therapy as an Athletic Trainer and Camp Director. He is still enjoying mountain biking and has also started playing basketball and lacrosse again. I have rejoiced in watching him become the father he never had and love our children as he trains them in the way they should go.
I continue to stay home and enjoy life as a mother. This calling of mine was only briefly interrupted by an assignment at Prudential (my former employer) that was supposed to last 12 weeks but was prolonged for 7 months, an opportunity for which we are thankful. As planned, I left my biking shorts behind and started running and hiking again. During the summer I run a series of 5Ks, in the Fall completed the Phoenix Summit Challenge and now I am training for the Valley of the Sun half marathon in the Spring of 09.
Gabriel is 4 1/2 now and he is inquisitive and interested in hiking, biking, math, books, trains, dinosaurs and music. He is also a distinguished UNO player (thanks Monica!) and very loving and a great helper around the house.
Doménica is almost 2 and during 2008 she went from being a beautiful crawling baby to a determined walking toddler with dazzling crimson hair and LOTS of things to say.
As 2009 approaches, we are again extremely thankful to God for the many gifts and blessings bestowed on our family. Regardless of our debt free status in the world, we are eternally indebted to God for the greatest gift given to us: Christ. He came to earth and gave us this season to celebrate His birth, so let us rejoice in our Saviour!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And thank you for all the good wishes we have received from you.
With love,
Mike, Cristina, Gabriel and Doménica

Hi Friend! Merry Christmas. Great letter and pic of the family. You are all so blessed. I admire your determination to train for events that involve adventure racing and running. I hope to accomplish something like that in the near future. :) I am feeling better now. Took a round of antibiotics and life is good. Looking forward to getting together with you next month. Hopefully, we can still hit the zoo at that time. Thanks for your understanding. Make sure and leave lots of cookies and milk for Santa tonight! Love, Pam
I'm so glad that I could teach Gabriel a game that would drive his parents crazy......errrr, I mean challenge his mind. Well, I guess the UNO game keeps you from forgetting me. Don't worry, My 5 and 7 year old nephew and niece solidly beat me at a card game yesterday.
