Springbreak Staycation - Final Day

On Thursday night, Mike and I went to the movie theater. We watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which is now at the "Frugal Theater". It was entertaining so it did not feel like a 3 hour movie. It was fun to be able to go out on a weekday.

For our last day of staycation, we went back to the resort. It was a beautiful day, though it was only it the upper 70's, it felt much warmer because there wasn't much wind. Also, there was a lot more people out by the pool, so it really felt like we were on vacation. Mike and the kids spend hours in the pool. I only like swimming when it is pretty warm, so again I lounged in a chaise and started a new book. I drifted in and out of sleep at times, hearing the kids laugh and enjoy themselves in their still worry free world. Everything was allright, for daddy was with them. There I felt content and thankful.

Close to the resort there is a hole-in-the-wall kind of joint which Mike loves : Los Reyes de la Torta. It is as close to authentic Mexico City style of food as you can get here. They sell among other things sandwiches (tortas) and licuados (smoothies). mmmm... the music is loud and noone speaks English but the menues have very descriptive photos of the items... in case you decide to visit... After dinner we came home and got ready to go on a date! Two nights in a row - believe it!

Mike loves jazz and blues, so we went to see a band that was playing at the Rythm Room. I love watching people dance and there were two couples that were very good. We danced some as well. Someday I would like to take dancing lessons...
We spent our last $2.17 going through a drive through at midnight!

When we came home we sat in the patio and talked for a while... it was a nice gift to be able to take a week like this...

Today life is back to normal. I resumed cleaning and laundry and cooking, returning phone calls and paying bills.

I should carry this photo for those who ask where she gets her red hair from...The kids in daddy's world...

What a great staycation, Cristina. Looks like you had a wonderful time together without all the hassle of being on the road. Were you really able to resist phone calls and all the normal day to day tasks?
