Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month therefore myself, along with approximately 20 other women have partnered with the local Crisis Nursery to help collect and raise a number of items that will benefit the children that are being served by this organization.

The Crisis Nursery's mission is to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect by providing protection, support and opportunities to troubled families and their children. As part of this partnership we have organized two events that will assist us in accomplishing our goal to assist this center. The first event will be taking place this Saturday April 18th from 10 am until 2 pm outside of the Walmart Marketplace located at the intersection of 24th Street and Baseline in South Phoenix. We will be holding a diaper and formula drive. All items collected will be donated to the Nursery.

The second event will take place on Thursday April 23rd from 5 pm until 7 pm at the Coldstone Creamery located at the intersection of 51st Avenue and Baseline in Laveen. Coldstone will donate a percentage of the sales during those hours and we will use those funds to purchase wish list items for the Nursery.

If you are reading this post and are moved to participate in any way, please consider dropping items by Walmart or taking the family out for ice cream at Coldstone during those hours. Of course I can also pick up items from you at other times.

I am grateful for all those who have supported previous efforts to serve those in need by sponsoring my drives and attending my fundraisers.
