Desert Botanical Gardens

Last week we went to the Desert Botanical Gardens. As it turned out, we could have not picked a better day. Not only the weather was beautiful but the Spring Butterfly Pavilion is open and since Gabriel has been learning a lot about nature , it was very fitting. Miss Krysten, his teacher, ordered an ant farm and some caterpillars so that the kids could observe them. so Gabriel was super excited to see the Butterflies.

At the entrance, they handed us a butterfly bingo board and Gabriel and Owen had a blast finding the different butterflies. I think we found at least six different kinds.

Gabriel and Owen are really good friends. They play well together and they have similar personalities. Full of energy but also gentle and very inquisitive. In the picture above, they were just sitting, observing the different things in the ground while they snacked.
We also saw several pieces of the Chihuly Exhibit. It was, exquisit! I personally think it should become permanent. It brings so much life to the desert exhibitions....
I voted this one as one of my favorites.
Here is Gabriel inside the butterfly pavilion, hoping for the butterfly to sit in his hand.
Another one of my favorites. To see more photos, click here.

Maybe you could order one of those for your house - I'm sure Mike wouldn't mind the cost:). Now you just have to decide where to put it! :)

I would order the boat and put it in the backyard! Or did you mean a set of caterpillars??
